How to Link Funnels with Automations in Systeme.io

Funnels are great. Automations make them deadly. If your funnel isn't triggering tags, emails, or campaigns… it's just a brochure.

Here’s how to wire your funnels to actually do something after someone opts in or buys.

Step 1: Go to the Funnel Step (e.g. Squeeze Page)

Open your funnel → Click the step (like “Squeeze Page”) → Scroll down to the Automation Rules tab.

Step 2: Add a Trigger

Click “Add Rule” → Select your trigger.

Most common ones:

  • Form submitted = lead opts in

  • Tag added = someone matched criteria

  • Email clicked = great for engagement automations

Step 3: Add an Action

Now add what you want the system to do next. For example:

  • Add tag

  • Subscribe to campaign

  • Send email

  • Move to another funnel

  • Add to custom audience (FB/Google Ads)

You can chain multiple actions.

Example: Welcome Sequence Funnel

Trigger: Form Submitted
Actions:

  1. Add tag: “lead-new”

  2. Subscribe to campaign: “Welcome Email Series”

  3. Send email immediately

This setup = instant lead segmentation + autoresponder magic.

Bonus: Use Conditions

You can go even deeper using Conditions, like:

  • If tag = “customer” → skip emails

  • If email contains “@company.com” → add to B2B list

  • If user didn’t click → resend variant after 48h

No dev. Just dropdown menus.
